The PPCU provides guidance and assistance of the procurement process by maintaining, assessing, and developing policy and procedures for District procurement.

The purpose is to unite the separate, and sometimes conflicting bulletins, reference guides, and memorandums concerning District procurement procedures and policies. This benefits the District and outside vendors by providing them a consistent and updated source of information that outlines how to conduct business with the District.

The PPCU monitors, tracks, and coordinates compliance of District procurement policy and procedures. This is done under the auspices of its Audit Compliance Program, which monitors and responds to all audits involving Procurement Services Group.

The purpose of this program is to ensure that both District departments and outside vendors and procurement-related activities comply with District policy and procedures. This benefits the District by ensuring that needed goods and services are acquired in the proper manner while protecting public funds from fraud and abuse.
